The Inspiration Comes From The Story Of The First Black Samurai Yasuke. Inspired By Traditional African Patterns With A Japanese Quilting Style called Sashiko & Boro. There Are Ten Unique Handmade Quilted Kimonos. Each Representing and Element.
💧This One Is Water and Relates To A Traditional Dyeing Technique called Aizome or Indigo Dye in Japan.
✂️Adding in A Level Of Up-cycling and Re-working The Clothing is Essentially Made Of Leftover Materials and Given A Second Life.

Each jacket comes with a kimono stand crafted by John Michaels Kitchen, an original wooden repurposed Japanese Package Box, catalog book, handwritten scroll from the designer, and custom gloves for handling purposes only.
